His Collected Stories was also awarded by the University of Calcutta. His numerous novels and stories have been translated into Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, and Tamil. Many of his works have been published in English, Czech, and German translations. He is the only Indian writer whose stories have been included in Literary Olympians, a book published in America, translated by Clinton B. Seely from the University of Chicago.
