He completed his Master’s in Bengali from the University of Calcutta, securing first place in the first class (1932). He pursued research at the University of Calcutta on a Ram Tanu Lahiri scholarship (1933-1936). He joined the editorial department of the newspaper \u003cem\u003eAnandabazar Patrika\u003c\/em\u003e on January 1, 1946. In 1950, he joined the Bengali department at the University of Calcutta. Bishi was a prolific writer, creating works in poetry, novels, drama, short stories, and essays.
