History remembers kings, battles, and empires—but some of its most extraordinary stories belong to the women who refused to surrender.

'Itihasher Birangona' by Samriddha Dutta brings together a powerful collection of stories about the brave women of Indian history—queens, rulers, warriors, and fearless leaders who stood against invading armies, colonial power, political betrayal, and impossible odds.

One story follows a young widowed queen who, with barely 2,000 soldiers, defeats a powerful Sultan in just 48 hours. Another brings us face-to-face with a fiercely independent Maharani who refuses to surrender her kingdom to the British, challenging the authority of a colonial commissioner with extraordinary courage.

But these are not simply stories of war and victory. They are stories of courage, love, sacrifice, ambition, resistance, and resilience, revealing the deeply human lives behind legendary acts of bravery.

Written in an accessible and vivid style, ‘Itihasher Birangona’ brings forgotten and lesser-known chapters of Indian history closer to the modern reader. It is a celebration of women who shaped their own destinies—and, in doing so, changed the course of history.
