The Verdict by Sujay Kantawala [Paperback]

This is a crime mystery thriller centred on Karan Negi, a retired judge who seeks a quiet life in the hills of Pelling. His peace is shattered when Sonia Verma, a young receptionist, is found dead under suspicious circumstances.

As Karan investigates, he discovers that evidence is being destroyed, witnesses are being pressured, and powerful interests are interfering with the case. Forced to confront the corruption of the justice system he once served, Karan must work with a small trusted team while also confronting his own past compromises and moral guilt.

The investigation gradually becomes more than a murder case—it becomes a test of justice, integrity, power, and conscience.
